So, I loved the idea of this book.
Hot theoretical physicist dude who is socially inept asks his friend
(who happens to be a single woman) to help cope with a specific social situation. If you're picturing Sheldon Cooper, don't
worry. I was, too.
Now, our hero in this book is Ivan.
He's very literal. Now, most men
are literal and don't do well with the whole emotional aspect of life. Well, some do better than others. But this man was really, really literal. And you can see that he needs our heroine's
help. Cami or Camilla as Ivan sometimes
calls her. Which, to be honest, was
quite hot.
Cami has a thing for Ivan. She watches
him. She knows his (very regimented)
schedule. It's almost borderline stalkerish. But he's her neighbor and it doesn't really
come across as creepy. And of course,
Ivan is completely unaware. Or so we
think.
I don't want to recap the book for you, but I will say that we find out that Ivan needs control in every aspect of his life. *nods* That's right. Even the fun, dirty parts.
What I didn't love was certain elements of the smut. Ivan was (sometimes) not the best dirty
talker.
He said things like:
"You're presenting your anus and vagina for inspection."
Why, yes, Dr. Ivan. They
are. The clinical talk gets me so
hot. Are we making a trip to the
gynocologist the next time we have sex or what?
But he was also able to say the sexy stuff, too. Which for me seemed confusing. I mean, is he a dominant sex god or a literal physicist?
